My name is Stace, and I am a voracious devourer of books – all kinds of books! I’ve been like this as long as I can remember, and we can all blame it on my mother, or Mama as you will come to know her. She would read to me from the time I could sit on a lap, and I have carried the tradition on.
I’m now an aunt, the coolest aunt on the planet, if you ask the kids. My oldest niece is Jordan – 15 – and the closest competition for book consumption I will probably ever have. I promised her on the day she was born that I would make sure she loved to read, and . . . got it done! Then there is Logan, who is 8, and a devourer in training. He didn’t think he’d ever read like Sissy and I, but he’s well on his way and loving it. The next is Raegan, who is 6, and she just got a reading award at school (kindergarden just completed.) Finally, there is my little belle, Aubrey, who is only 4 months old, but Mama is already working with the books and flashcards. Yeah, we’re just a little manic about reading and books.
I am also a grad student, working on my Master’s degree in English. I have B.A.’s in both English and Theatre already, but would love to teach one day.
I started this blog for my books obsession – you name it, I’ll blog about it. Much of it will probably be reviews of what I have read, both for classes and leisure. I read a good many ARCs, so you’ll hear about some titles before they are even available for sale. Others will be out, and still others classics, etc. There’s not much I won’t read, but I love fantasy, science fiction, Christian living, classics, literary novels and short stories, Arthurian legend stuff, anything Louisa May Alcott every penned, books on writing and reading, and well, like I said earlier, almost anything.
I love to discuss and delve into the big questions and important ideas and the craft of writing, so I hope some of you will help me create a place for ongoing, intelligent conversation. If you have a blog, be sure to leave me a comment and link, so I can come on over and give you a visit as well. Nothing like a community of book lovers to keep a brain healthy and active. So . . . here we go!
